About the program

The step up leadership program is designed for rural generalist trainees and early career fellows who want to become effective leaders in a healthcare team. We'll help you develop the skills you need to supervise, mentor and motivate an effective team.

Over 2 days you will learn about:

  • being a supportive leader
  • influencing others
  • leading and guiding change
  • coaching and performance
  • having difficult conversations
  • strategy
  • working with stakeholders
  • leading in a rural healthcare setting.

This program is delivered in partnership with the Centre for Leadership Excellence.

Who can attend

To join this program you must have:

  • current medical registration
  • at least 3 years' clinical experience in an Australian (or similar) health system
  • an interest in medical leadership.

When and where

Saturday 5 to Sunday 6 April 2025
Brisbane

You must attend both days of the workshop.

Costs

This course is free for our rural generalist trainees and fellows. We’ll also book and pay for your accommodation and flights if you need them.

If you're not on the pathway you might still be able to attend but you'll need to pay. Contact the team to discuss costs.
