About the workshop
During this one day workshop, you’ll practise the key clinical and professional skills you’ll need as a rural generalist.
You’ll learn about:
- basic and advanced life support techniques and medicines
- managing a patient in cardiac arrest
- using a defibrillator
- labour, stages of childbirth, and when and how to assist
- speculum examinations, including what to look for if you suspect a pregnancy loss or need to manage vaginal bleeding
- routine health checkups for babies (well-baby checks), and signs that a baby isn’t well
- training and career pathways for rural generalists.
There aren’t any formal assessment activities, and you’ll get a statement of attendance at the end of the program.
