About the summit

The 2 day summit is for rural generalists who have gained fellowship in the last 5 years. You’ll get to upskill with colleagues and learn about:

  • thriving as a new rural generalist consultant
  • reflective practice and continuing professional development (CPD)
  • supervision and management skills
  • rural case studies
  • refreshing procedural skills in obstetrics, anaesthetics, mental health, and skin cancer.

You'll also get to network with your peers.

Dr Ebonney van der Meer invites you to the 2025 summit.

Transcript for Fresh Fellows Summit 2025

>>Dr Ebonney van der Meer:

Hi everyone, it's my pleasure to welcome you to the fresh fellow summit workshop for 2025.

This is a 2-day workshop held in Mooloolaba, and it focuses on a couple of things: education, so an opportunity to upskill in obstetrics, anaesthetics, mental health, and skin cancer medicine, and then a lot of focus on connecting and networking with your like-minded peers, socialising, and an opportunity to kind of take stock, sit back, reflect, explore how you got here, where you're heading, and to gain some real concrete practical strategies around dealing with the tough stuff that is a reality of life sometimes as a rural generalist consultant. Really trying to set you up to thrive and flourish in your role in your community.

We are running this program as part of the alumni support program that the RG Pathway has now launched and in our second year of running, and we are really looking forward to sharing this time with you.

Bring along your families—they're very welcome, and I look forward to seeing you there.
