Offers

Round 1 Offers: Applicant Group A (including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Intern Allocation Initiative and Rural Generalist applicants)

Group A applicants are medical graduates of Queensland universities who are Australian or New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents and either:

• are seeking an internship commencing in the year of, or immediately following graduation; or
• have received Review Committee approval from a previous campaign to defer commencement of internship.

General intern applicants

Wednesday 16 July 2025 - we send offers to successful applicants by email.

By Friday 18 July 2025 - if you got an offer, you need to accept or decline your offer.

Queensland Rural Generalist Pathway applicants

Monday 14 July 2025 - we send offers to successful applicants by email.

By Wednesday 16 July 2025 - if you got an offer, you need to accept or decline your offer.

Round 2 Offers: Applicant Groups B to D (first preferences only)

You’re an applicant in these groups if you aren’t graduates of Queensland universities who are Australian or New Zealand citizens, or Australian permanent residents. Find out more about group B to D applicant criteria.

Between Monday 21 July and Tuesday 29 July 2025 – we’ll contact successful applicants and make an offer.

Wednesday 30 July 2025 – we release all offers through the online application system.

Friday 1 August 2025 – if you got an offer, you need to accept or decline it by 12 pm (AEST) through the online application system.

Open Round: Remaining B to D applicants (any preference)

If we don’t fill all the positions in the previous rounds, we have an open round for applicants who haven’t received an offer.

If you’re successful, we’ll contact you from Monday 18 August 2025. You’ll have 48 hours from the date of the offer to accept or decline it through the online application system.

Late vacancy management process (LVMP)

If we haven’t contacted you with an offer in the previous rounds, we’ll contact you to ask if you’re still interested. This will happen from Monday 3 November 2025.

If you’re still interested and are successful, we’ll contact you to make an offer. You’ll have 48 hours from the date of the offer to accept or decline it through the online application portal.

We’ll also release the offers through the online application portal.

Term dates

Before you can start your placement, you’ll need to take part in a paid orientation. To find out about duration and dates, you’ll need to contact the hospital you’ll be doing your internship with.

2026 term dates

Our intern program runs for 52 weeks from Monday 19 January 2026 to Sunday 17 January 2027.

2025 term dates

Our intern program runs for 52 weeks from Monday 20 January 2025 to Sunday 18 January 2026.
